I think that sort of anger is justified. I was similarly furious when I found a burning incense stick jammed into the top lookout railing the other day at Ocean Beach. No doubt the people who left it thought it was a lovely gesture. Ignorance is always the enemy.
Immersing one's-self in the ocean does sort things out though.
Yes. Exactly. That railing is treated with linseed oil, so if it had burnt down to the railing - bingo. I know incense sticks are designed to extinguish but any kind of spark dropping on dry vegetation below could have been dreadful. There really needs to be an education program for tourists - about fires but also about how treacherous this coast is. It's bad enough that many locals also need educating!
