So sad. Poor Nutmeg. And poor Ashcroft - with no mum now. I hope his life gets better.

Ashcroft is doing well. This morning he is following Cinnamon around the paddock as if he belongs to her. Even better, she is tolerating him doing so.

Oh Jill. I was sobbing along too! How heartbreaking to lose Nutmeg and two of the triplets... how incredible to get triplets at all. What a cutie little Ashcroft is, though. Hope he grows stronger and cheekier by the day ❤

Thanks Kate. I guess writing about it was cathartic. I'm always tempted to only write the happy stories, or at least the ones that end happily, but this one is simply tragic. Although little Ashcroft is super cute, so that's positive. And spring has well and truly sprung here, which is beautiful. Ups and downs. Life.

My goodness. The thoughts and memories are stirred. Thank you for not sharing just the “good news.” This is such an important part of the circle of life. We wish Ashcroft well, and hope to see many more photos.

Thank you. I always hesitate before sharing something sad like this story, but it was such an intense and rich time I had to write about it. Ashcroft is doing very well.
