I like deserted trails. I get antsy when there are too many other people on the trail; joggers coming up behind me, slow walkers blocking the path ahead, oncoming walkers and joggers two or three abreast taking up more than their side of the trail. It all brings out the grump in me.
I love this piece so much Jill! Sometimes when Sam and I are walking in Denmark, we get grumpy when there are too many people on “our” path. For the same reason, I avoid the coast path here on sunny weekend mornings. I can never find my rhythm if I am speeding up or slowing down to match my pace to everyone else. I do love to listen to music whilst I’m walking though. For me it actually helps to switch off my thoughts and just enjoy the feeling of the movement in my body :)
